Ah, California. So much to explore, so little time. Covering almost the entire west coast, you know that there are hundreds of great destinations dotting from Eureka on down to San Diego. However, you also know that weeding through all of them to find the very best RV campgrounds in California can be tough. So many to choose from, so little time- so, we've done it for you.
Angels Camp RV And Camping Resort
If you're looking through the RV campgrounds in California, you no doubt know that the historical areas around the Gold Country have many. Standing out amongst these is Angels Camp RV and Camping Resort. Offering only 61 RV sites, this is a smaller, quiet park that also offers tent sites, as well as lodges and cabins. Complete with a playground, kitchen pavilion, laundry, and store, this campground is the perfect rural getaway. History buff will delight in the close proximity to all of the Gold rush history nearby, wine lovers will adore that it is close to the Calavaras wineries, and nature lovers will enjoy the Big Tree State Park, New Lake Melones, with lots of fishing and river rafting nearby. Also nearby is that golf-lovers paradise, Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort.
DeAnza Springs Resort
If you're feeling a bit more daring, there are a few RV campgrounds in California you might like to check out- but probably one of the best is DeAnza Springs Resort. This is one of the newest clothing-optional resorts in California and offers a wealth of amenities beyond being able to shuck your clothes and go au naturale. 311 spacious RV sites, and a large number of tent sites are also offered in this very inclusive resort. Rental units are fully furnished and there are motel rooms available. This campground offers a huge clubhouse that houses a restaurant and a come as you are bar, as well as a dance hall, fitness center and a game room. It's located very conveniently close to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in beautiful Jucumba, California. DeAnza does have very strictly enforced conduct rules for visitor protection and due to the location, the weather is almost always perfect.
Annette's Mono Village
Annette's Mono Village near Bridgeport, California is most definitely one of the RV campgrounds of note. With its nearness to absolutely some of the best fishing that California has to offer, its beautiful Eastern Sierra location is also breathtaking for those who love the views. They refer to themselves as a "full service destination resort" and we are inclined to agree. This park offers spaces for RV, but also cabins, motels, and a fully stocked grocery store, on site. There is also an ATM machine, boat and pontoon rentals, a great gift shoppe, laundry facilities, and you can buy your fishing license right there at the campground. Offering a great deal of entertainment and social activities, Annette's also hosts several live music shows, and BBQs as well as offering a cocktail lounge.
Morro Dunes Travel Trailer Park and RV
Located right along the beautiful California coast, you can camp right along the nine-mile stretch of Atascadero Beach. This gorgeous park is one of the loveliest RV campgrounds in California. From the comfort of your RV, you can view brilliant sunrises and sunsets, see the majestic Morro Rock, and enjoy the bay. This campground also offers RV repair and service, as well as an onsite convenience store, laundry, dump station and full or partial hookups. There are numerous vineyards nearby for wine tasting and tours, Morro Bay itself is a bird sanctuary with an amazing natural history museum, and Hearst Castle is less than a half an hour north.
